PSS offers exceptional custom gunsmithing services for a wide range of quality firearms, from full customs to tune-ups. Precision is our primary focus as we take on a limited amount of work, ensuring that we do not rush any project out the door. We strive to produce the most accurate firearms available in the USA.

Additionally, PSS provides specialized gunsmith service, repair, and custom work for Spohr and STP firearms. Precision Shooting Supply is the only authorized gunsmith in the USA to work on these unique firearms.

Gunsmith Service

Our History

Chris Rhodes, the former owner of Bayside Custom Gunworks, has been known for his expertise in custom gunsmithing and building custom guns for clients across the USA. After retiring from BCG in 2022, he made a return to the firearms industry in 2025. Most of our gunsmith work is performed by skilled smiths under Chris' supervision, while he personally handles all Spohr and STP gunsmith services, he will take on select other projects throughout the year.

Our price list below outlines some of our general gunsmith packages. Each non-Spohr or STP job that Chris takes on is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Our dedicated staff is always available to assist you with any other gunsmith work you may need.

Revolver Action Tune

$250

Our custom revolver gunsmithing services are available for most makes and models of revolvers. We offer expert trigger adjustment, an 11-degree crown, uniform throats, and duty chamfer charge holes.

1911 Trigger Job

$175

We offer custom gunsmithing services for all quality 1911/2011 models. Our trigger jobs can be tailored to carry, competition, duty, or any other use. (plus parts cost)

Machine Work

$125/hr

General gunsmithing machine work hourly rate.

General Gunsmith Work

$90/hr

General gunsmithing hourly labor rate.

Custom Built Rifle, Pistol, Revolver

All custom gunsmithing projects, including those involving Spohr and STP firearms, are quoted on a case by case basis. A 50% deposit is required to initiate your build.

Range Time

Sight in optics/irons, accuracy testing, and troubleshooting. (plus ammunition cost)

Spohr/STP Shop Charges

Work in this section is handled directly by Chris Rhodes, who specializes in custom gunsmithing. These fees may apply to non-Spohr/STP firearms as well if you wish for Chris to personally work on your firearm. Contact us for more details.

Spohr Trigger Tune

$200-$350

Trigger tuned for duty, carry, hunting, target, or other user-specified adjustments through our custom gunsmithing services. This includes test fire (plus actual ammunition cost) to ensure your Spohr firearm is performing at its best.

STP 1911/2011 Trigger Tune

Duty Chamfer Spohr Chambers

Bevels the edge of the chamber mouth to aid in smooth reloading, a feature that enhances the performance of your Spohr revolver. This enhancement is applicable to 9, 357, and 44 caliber guns.
